I'm pretty burned out from my first week working full time in half a year. I considered just leaving you a  picture today. But you deserve better than that. Cornflower Blue has a lovely tutorial for turning a free piece of furniture into an awesome one. Cornflower Blue I don't have an iPhone, but this Captain's Log app is pretty sweet. Trekkies, engage your grocery list! Rurouni Kenshin is my favorite anime (minus Kaoru's whining, of course), and a live-action movie has been made. They say it's practically perfect in every way . Too bad it's not coming to the U.S. anytime soon. I vote that we start a petition for it. I'm a bit preoccupied today with my new case of holy-crap-this-is-obnoxious back pain (a.k.a. pinched nerve again ), so instead of writing a normal post, I'm going to share other people's creativity with you. Today is the day I finish my essay. I'm feeling oddly excited about this - it reminds me of when I finished my senior sem paper in college. At that point, I said YES! I can finally write a great paper. And then school was done. But I'm recapturing the happy part of that. Fun things you could do: enjoy some of the best Muppet segments ever . I've spent my morning looking for a bunch of random weird crap for you to enjoy. You're welcome. At Seventh Sanctum , you can generate weird names. Not weird like Severus or Zebediah. Weird like Ensorceled Duke Who is in the Vault. Or Haunted Emperor Caressed by Indigo Terror. Or The Innocent Chaotic Emperor, with Locks of Malachite and the Coat of Final Confusion. Great for games where you need an unusual name, or if you're planning to take over the world and need a new identity. The year 100 AD , according to Wikipedia, was a leap year. The arts and sciences section of this article makes sure to note that China began using the wheelbarrow about then (very important technology), and lions have become extinct in the Balkans. Fermium , the 100th element, is a synthetic element with a half-life of 100.5 days. Some people who read this blog might be interested in its synthesis in nuclear explosions, but I'm guessing not many will be. My Three Favorite Webcomics Girls With Slingshots - Snarky, crazy adventures of people without jobs who like drinking. Mostly a girl-centric comic. xkcd - The tagline says it all: "A webcomic about romance, sarcasm, math, and language." One of the smarter comics out there. It feeds my inner geek. Questionable Content - Okay, maybe everyone knows about all of these comics already, but they're good . QC is kind of like reading a romance novel by Douglas Adams.
